2nd International Conference on Smart Carbon Saving and Recycling for Ironmaking
Dear Colleagues

This announcement is the first circular for the 2nd International Conference on Smart Carbon Saving and Recycling for Ironmaking (ICSRI 2), which will be held in Pusan BEXCO Korea on October 26th-28th, 2016 in conjunction with the Fall KIMM (Korean Institute of Metals and Materials) Conference. With continued environmental restrictions and global carbon trading schemes soon to be implemented, the need for lowering carbon consumption and overall CO2 emissions within the steel industry has become of paramount importance.

This conference continues from the success of the ICSRI 1 that was held in Kanagawa Japan in 2013. The topics of the conference will include, but not limited to carbon savings technologies in the blast furnace, alternative ironmaking processes, hydrogen utilization, CO2 minimization in iron and steelmaking, top-gas recycling and energy savings for lower carbon emissions in ironmaking. Fundamental studies and modelling pertaining to the above topics are also welcomed.

The conference aims to provide the latest research results in these areas and provide academia and industry professionals in the global arena a venue forin-depth discussions and strengthen the close network ties between some of the most globally recognized professionals in the field of ironmaking and steelmaking. The oral presentations are organized with select keynote and invited talks, but participation in the symposium is open to all those interested and always welcomed.

 The venue of Pusan is located in the south-east of the Korean peninsula. It is the second largest city in the Republic of Korea and the largest port city.Pusan has the largest and longest beach in Korea with the World’s largest department store. Culinary, shopping centers, historical sites that cater to foreign visitors are common in Pusan.
